Supporting People

Gloucester City Homes is proud to provide a range of Supporting People Services to our older and more vulnerable customers e.g. sheltered housing and the lifelink emergency alarm system.

"Supporting People" is a government initiative, funded through the Government's Department for Communities and Local Government|

Gloucestershire Supporting People Partnership

This money is passed onto Supporting People Partnerships around the country who then use the money to commission supporting people services from a range of providers - many of whom are housing organisations.

In Gloucestershire, the Supporting People Partnership| is based at Gloucestershire County Council.

To ensure that these services are provided to the very highest standards, the Supporting People Partnership employ staff to inspect the service providers and ensure that they are meeting the necessary quality standards.

The Inspection of Gloucester City Homes

Gloucester City Homes was inspected in July/August 2006 and was awarded the first Gold Standard for Supporting People services in Gloucestershire.

GCH was inspected again in May 2010 and was awarded 5 A's.

The assessment team commented:

“We visited Gloucester City Homes four years ago and they were good then, but now they are doing a brilliant job. We have never seen so much positive and meaningful involvement with the residents. We can certainly look to Gloucester City Homes as an organisation of excellence in Supported Housing”
