Get Involved in GCH's Garden Competition
Gloucester City Homes invites their residents to take part in their highly successful annual garden competition. Yes, it’s that time of year again for all green fingered residents to get creative in the garden for the chance to win some fantastic prizes.
This year sees the introduction of a special category to celebrate a special year. Prizes will be given to those who create a themed garden either to commemorate the Olympic Games or the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Other categories in the competition include young person’s garden, school garden, container garden, individual garden, community garden, disabled person’s garden, edible garden, sensory garden and wildlife/environmental garden.
Becky Hayward, GCH Neighbourhood Services Manager, commented: “We urge tenants to get involved in this great competition. These beautiful gardens enhance our estates and give people pride in their communities.”
“Our Housing Officers carry out regular inspections of the estates and we have to take action against those tenants who do not maintain their gardens. Other tenants take great pride in maintaining their gardens and we wish to award all the hard work they put in. Good luck to everyone who enters this competition.”
Last year saw residents getting really involved to present some beautiful gardens across Gloucester. Pictures of the 2011 winning gardens and competition results can be found on our website www.gloscityhomes.co.uk
