Junior Wardens visit House of Commons
Gloucester City Homes Junior Wardens have spent an informative and enjoyable day at the House of Commons thanks to an invitation from Gloucester MP Richard Graham.
Richard decided to invite the Junior Wardens to thank them for all the good work they had done in the community over the last year.
Children from the Cool Kidz Crew (Robinswood School), StreetSteppers (Finlay Community School and Podsmead Dreamscheme had a fantastic time learning about the history of how our country is run. They also enjoyed meeting Richard Graham for lunch in the prestigious Jubilee Room.
The children were accompanied by GCH Resident Involvement Officer Terry Elcock, PCSO Chris Jenkinson, Caroline Esson (Venture Play Coordinator) and Penny Ridler (Podsmead TRA Secretary.)
The Cool Kidz Crew are now preparing a presentation to recruit new Junior Wardens prior to moving on to secondary school in the Autumn.
GCH Resident Involvement Coodinator Lyn Scudamore comments: ‘The children have worked so hard this year and this outing to the House of Commons was well deserved. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to talk to Richard Graham about the Houses of Parliament and to find out about its history.’
