Meet the People Meetings
What is Meet The People?
Meet the People is an evening event, organised jointly by your Neighbourhood Services and Anti Social Behaviour Team. Officers from Gloucester City Homes (GCH), Police, Safer Gloucester, Environmental Health, Local Councillors and other agencies conduct a house-to-house neighbourhood survey in the evening asking residents what they think about life in the area they live in. The event also gives residents an opportunity to raise any issues, share ideas and identify any specific problems in their community with an overall aim to provide positive outcomes for all.
During 2011, GCH held the event monthly in different areas of the City where we manage communities. Areas surveyed are determined by analysing information already received by residents to GCH and other agencies, as areas we may need to obtain more feedback or make improvements to.
The information collected at the event enables Gloucester City Homes and our partners to identify any areas of priority with a clear focus on improving our services to you and the environment you live in. The results are compiled and analysed and we send out a community newsletter updating residents of our findings which also informs residents of any action we or our partner agencies will take to address any issues raised.
The events are publicised through local press, our website, facebook and each tenant in the area to be surveyed is sent a notification that the event will be taking place from what time and concerning specific areas. The events are held in the evening specifically in an attempt to capture the views from all residents.
From April 2012, these events will be organised every two months and GCH will be targeting areas where there is either low levels of ASB being reported or areas that have not had an event before. This is so we can determine if there are any potential issues affecting those communities not being reported. Officers of GCH will also carry out mini Meet the People events in areas determined by officers or residents, where an increase in ASB or estate management complaints are identified.
If you want to tell us your views of your local area or you think your area needs such an event, please contact Sara Taylor, ASB Manager, or Becky Hayward, Neighbourhood Services Manager, on 0800 408 2000 (free phone) or 01452 424344 (cheaper from a mobile) or contact us.|
