Project SOLACE

What is Project SOLACE?

The Project Solace Team

Gloucester City Homes  in partnership with Gloucestershire Constabulary| and Gloucester City Council’s Community |Safety Partnership| has set up a new service for tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the City of Gloucester.

GCH has been at the forefront of developing a private sector ASB service in partnership with Gloucestershire Constabulary and Gloucester City Council known as Project Solace

Project Solace is an innovative new service which has changed the way agencies work in partnership to tackle ASB in Gloucester. Tackling ASB on a multi agency basis to ensure that all partners work together holistically, regardless of tenure, working together under one location and one management structure.

Project Solace is nationally recognised as an industry exemplar and has received the following accolades:

  •  Regarded as national best practice by the Audit Commission
  •  Regarded as an example of best practice by the National Police Improvement Agency (NPIA) and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary
  •  Housemark Social Crime and Landlords Nuisance Group Project Solace Best Practice Award Winner in managing Anti Social Behaviour - November 2012
  •  Finalists in the 2012 Housing Heroes Award for Groundbreaking Service Team of the Year.

Project Solace is a multi-agency team consisting of 2 Officers from Gloucestershire Constabulary and an ASB Officer from Gloucester City Council whose sole purpose is to tackle high level ASB and prevent incidents of ASB within the private sector of the City.

The team is managed under the expertise of GCH’s ASB Team and works alongside the Local Policing Area Teams| to provide a service for residents who are experiencing ASB caused by people who live in private rented properties, own their own homes or where ASB is not specifically linked to a property and an area instead.

Project Solace will work with local communities and partner agencies such as the Police, Environmental Health and support services to reduce ASB through providing a holistic, effective and swift service.
