Access to Information
We appreciate that from time to time, you will want to know what personal information we hold about you. Or you may want general information about our services or performance.
Our Service Standards
We will:
-
be regularly trained on and know the law covering access to information
-
regularly review and update all the information we provide on our services
-
offer you a range of information from organisations providing complementary services to our own. This will be in our offices and via links on our website
-
show you the personal information we hold about you, normally within 20 working days of you asking for it (unless we can't due to legal reasons or we need a third party's permission)
-
show you general information about our services, and performance, within 20 working days of you asking for it
-
reserve the right to make a charge for copies of personal information of up to £10.
We will always try to reply sooner than the above targets, wherever possible.
Under the Data Protection laws, other agencies may ask us to share information with them.
These include:
-
UK government departments and agencies
-
other public authorities, and
-
registered social landlords
The Audit Commission Act 1998 requires us to participate from time to time in the National Fraud Initiative (NFI) data matching exercise from time to time.
We provide tenancy data to the Audit Commission for the NFI. They use it to cross check information, helping prevent and detect fraud.
Every tenant may be checked - it does not imply that you are involved in fraud.
