Guideposts

Guideposts is a Trust which provides a range of services for older people including:

Floating Support Service for older people; and
Home Support Service

They exist to provide direct services for older people, people with dementia, with or recovering from mental health problems and those with learning disabilities. They believe that all people have the right to equality of opportunity.

Floating support service for older people

This service provides a range of help for older people including:

Advice and support on repair / improvement work
Liaison with statutory and voluntary services
Culture-specific housing-related support
Help finding other accommodation
Help maintaining the safety and security of a dwelling
Help setting up and maintaining home or tenancy
Facilitating social interaction and overcoming social isolation
Signposting to culture-specific health / treatment services
Help managing finances and benefit claims
Signposting to local community organisations
Supervision and monitoring or health and well being.

They will ask you a few simple questions. If you are eligible they will take all your details and arrange for a member of the Guideposts Support Team to visit you and look more closely at ways in which they are able to support you.

If you are not eligible for the Floating Support Service you may be eligible for the Home Support Service.
